Privacy Policy

Effective: March 2026

You Still Matter (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the You Still Matter mobile application (“App”) handles information.

The short version: We do not collect your personal data. Everything you enter stays on your device.

1. Information We Collect

The App may store the following types of information locally on your device:

ALL of this information is stored exclusively in your device’s local storage. It is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, transmit, or have access to:

We have no user accounts, no sign-in system, and no back-end database. Your data does not leave your phone.

3. How Your Data Is Stored

All data created within the App is stored in Apple’s standard on-device storage mechanisms. This data is:

If you wish to prevent your app data from being included in iCloud backups, you can disable iCloud backup for this app in Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Manage Storage > Backups.

4. Third-Party Services

The App does not currently integrate any third-party analytics services, advertising networks, crash reporting tools, or cloud storage providers.

If third-party integrations are added in a future version, this Privacy Policy will be updated before those changes go into effect, and we will notify you through the App.

The App may display links to external websites (such as youstillmatter.org) or allow you to initiate calls or texts to crisis helplines. Interactions with those external services are governed by their own privacy policies, which are outside our control.

5. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided information through the App, please contact us at [email protected] and we will address your concern.

If you are between 13 and 17, we encourage you to use the App with the awareness and support of a trusted adult.

6. Data Deletion

Because all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control over it at all times.

To delete all App data, go to Settings > Clear All Data within the App. This will permanently remove all mood entries, journal entries, tool logs, safety plan content, and trusted contacts stored by the App.

You can also delete the App entirely from your device, which will remove all associated data.

Since we do not hold any data on our servers, there is no additional deletion request necessary on your part.

7. Security

We take the sensitivity of mental health data seriously. Because your data never leaves your device, the primary security layer is your device’s own protections — your passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID.

We recommend:

No method of electronic storage is 100% secure, but our device-only approach minimizes exposure by design.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and notify you through the App where appropriate.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
